Princess Margaret Hospital
Prostate cancer (PCA) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the 3rd most common cause of cancer-related death in Canada. Recent advances in treating advanced PCA have been significant; however these drug therapies extend life only in the order of 4-12 months and have cumulative costs totaling $100,000-400,000 per patient. A team led by Dr. Neil Fleshner has developed a research program whose major goals are to reduce PCA morbidity and mortality by targeting its unique metabolic properties and vulnerabilities.
Mount Sinai Hospital
Breast cancer research initiatives at Mount Sinai Hospital are focused on understanding patient and tumor related factors in breast cancer, leading to highly effective therapies that target characteristics of cancer cells or patient factors.
The Daniel Alan Sheehan
Brain Tumour Research Fund
